Course Prerequisites

  • Strong understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, such as Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.
  • Familiarity with containerization concepts and Kubernetes is highly recommended (hands-on experience with GKE is beneficial).
  • Experience with cloud networking and cloud security best practices will be helpful.
  • Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps principles, and microservices architecture is useful but not required.
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud and multi-cloud principles will provide a useful foundation for the course.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the Google Cloud Anthos Architect course, you will be able to:

  1. Understand the core concepts and benefits of Google Cloud Anthos, and how it enables hybrid cloud and multi-cloud application management.
  2. Design and deploy a highly available Anthos architecture that spans both on-premises and cloud environments.
  3. Implement Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) on Anthos to manage containerized applications across various environments.
  4. Use Anthos Service Mesh to manage microservices communication, provide observability, and implement security policies in distributed applications.
  5. Implement Anthos Config Management for infrastructure as code (IaC) to streamline configuration and policy management across hybrid environments.
  6. Modernize legacy applications with Anthos Migrate to move workloads from on-premises to Google Cloud and manage them through a unified platform.
  7. Configure and manage Anthos Clusters and ensure they work seamlessly in a multi-cloud setup using Google Cloud’s infrastructure and services.
  8. Optimize performance, security, and cost-efficiency by leveraging the full capabilities of Anthos across different environments.
  9. Ensure compliance and governance of hybrid cloud infrastructures using Anthos Config Management and other GCP security services.
  10. Monitor the performance of applications across hybrid and multi-cloud environments using Google Cloud Operations Suite (formerly Stackdriver) integrated with Anthos.
  11. Prepare for the Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Anthos Architect certification exam, focusing on real-world use cases, scenarios, and best practices.
