MS-200: Planning and Configuring a Messaging Platform

Course Prerequisites

• Familiarity with basic Windows Server administration and understanding of Active Directory.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 services and components.
• Familiarity with Exchange Server or other email platforms is helpful but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts and email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3) will be beneficial.
• It’s recommended to have prior experience or knowledge of MS-100: Microsoft 365 Identity and Services for a smoother learning experience.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the MS-200: Planning and Configuring a Messaging Platform course, you will be able to:

1. Plan and configure Exchange Online and hybrid environments, including the use of Exchange Server and Exchange Online together.

5. Implement security and compliance policies, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), eDiscovery, and Retention policies to protect sensitive messaging data.
6. Plan and configure hybrid mail flow between on-premises Exchange and Exchange Online, ensuring smooth integration for organizations migrating to the cloud.
7. Implement client access policies for secure mail access across mobile devices and desktops, ensuring proper authentication and data protection.
8. Manage email address policies and configure email routing to ensure effective message delivery and prevent issues with mail flow.
9. Troubleshoot common messaging-related issues, including mail delivery failures, permission problems, and mailbox access issues.
10. Gain practical experience with configuring and managing Exchange Online Protection (EOP) to safeguard against email threats.
11. Understand how to configure and manage Outlook clients for smooth integration with Exchange Online and how to handle mailbox settings and profiles.
12. Use Microsoft 365 admin center and PowerShell for managing and automating configuration tasks within the messaging platform.
